Hi, I'm Hannah! I'm an award-winning biomedical artist, based out of Salt Lake City, dedicated to making complex science accessible through the art of visual design. My philosophy is rooted in curiosity. I believe a successful scientific story both accurately communicates its message and evokes a sense of wonder.
My love for science developed as a child due to my constant curiosity about the world around me. I was known by my family as "pochemuchka," which is an endearing Russian nickname for a child who asks too many questions. In fact, I asked so many questions that I was eventually gifted a beautifully illustrated book called "My Big Book of Questions and Answers." As an excited 8-year-old, I read it eagerly, captivated by every page, yet still left with unanswered questions.
My curious nature only grew hungrier with age, so I nourished it. In 2019, I received my Bachelor of Science from The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in Molecular and Cellular Biology, concentrating in Microbiology and Global Health. In 2023, I graduated from The University of Illinois at Chicago with a Master of Science in Biomedical Visualization, focusing my studies in animation, 3D modeling, and interactive design.
When I'm not researching answers to my growing list of scientific questions or learning new visualization techniques, you can find me out in nature snowboarding, hiking, or salsa dancing the night away.
